*In July 1942, in the same action that sank ''Arare'' and heavily damaged ''Kasumi'', she was also heavily damaged in a submarine attack, with her bow being blown off. In 2018, the wreckage of the blown-off bow was located off Kiska. While the clipper-shaped bow remains well defined and the port side bow anchor is still visible, aft of the bow, the rest of the bow structure has collapsed on itself.
