To work around dupe limitations, there are strategies around scrapping (including [[Modernization|modfodding]]) ships once their desirable equipments have been obtained, in order to keep your "dupe count" on those ships appear lower.
However, it is currently believed that there is a system ("Scrap locking") preventing players from obtaining a disproportionately high amount of "rarer/valuable" ships (ships that specifically grant desirable equipment such as [[Prinz Eugen]], {{Class|Fletcher}}, [[USN]] battleships, and ships that have other desirable uses such as [[DE]]).
