* The port town of Narvik is part of the old Operation Wilfred Plan R4, and was planned to be occupied by an Allied Landing Force to prevent the Germans from easily landing and establishing beachheads. It would later become known to be the site of the famous Battle of Narvik. This was the only site of operation that the Allied Forces were able to hold. This is one of the few early allied victories during the Invasion of Norway and one of the few victories against the German advance into Western Europe during 1939-1940.
