Black Holes
"Black Holes" or "Dark Portals", are a rare and peculiar occurrence in Kancolle, appearing on a few event maps, as well as in the anime movie. They basically represent some ominous sinking locations.
Events
Spring 2016 Event
The event is named "Deployment! Land-based Aerial Division!" and E-7 is named "Ride the Waves".
It represents Pearl Harbor, infamous for being the 1st blow of the Pacific War.
It notably features as main boss the Central Princess Damaged, aka USS Arizona, who sank there.
Fall 2016 Event
The event is named "Announcement! The Third Fleet Operation Act" and E-5 is named "Beyond the Shore".
It represents the Bikini Atoll, infamous for its nuclear testing on warships where a lot of wreak still remain.
It notably features as main boss the Abyssal Jellyfish Princess, aka Saratoga, who sank there.
Spring 2019 Event
The event is named "Commence Allied Relief! The 2nd Hawaii Operation" and E-5 is named "Beyond the Surging Sea...".
It represents the middle of the Eastern Pacific, roughly where USS Oklahoma (BB-37) sank while being towed after the war.
It notably features as main boss the Abyssal Pacific Princess, aka Colorado.
Summer 2020 Event
The main operation is named "Stop the Invasion! Island Defense Fortification Operation" and E-3 is named "Prayers From Beneath Goto Islands".
It represents the Gotō Islands, where many IJN submarines were scuttled after the war.
It notably features as main boss the Gotou Islands Seabed Princess, aka I-47, who was scuttled there.
KanColle The Movie
The plot of KanColle The Movie is to send a task force, which specifically contains Fubuki, to a special location, being a massive hole in the sea, with Abyssal Fubuki at its bottom.
The hole is located at the "Ironbottom Sound", infamous for the dozen of ships and planes that sank there.
It is more precisely Cape Esperance, the sinking location of Fubuki, explaining the purpose of the movie, and the existence of Abyssal Fubuki.
