Tips

This map is mostly randomized on the path taken, with few notable exceptions that should be considered:

  • Avoid bringing too many (F)BB(V) and CV(B/L).
  • A well-balanced fleet is recommended for tackling this map.
  • While dedicated ASW setups are not necessary, mixed ASW set-ups can be considered for DDs.

Tips

This map can be taken advantage of in multiple ways as it is a location that can be considered for completing the World 4 Weekly quest Bw6 and scoring lots of transport kills for the transport daily and weekly quests.

Out of all the possible paths, going B D C G L will be the most dangerous as the fleet will arrive at the boss node with only 20% fuel and ammo making them quite vulnerable to both attacks and deliver weak shelling attacks.

Tips

This map will serve as a first introduction to Installation type Abyssal, which is different from all other abyssal types as they tend to have higher armor, stronger attack power and, can't be hit by torpedoes.

  • Killing the installation is optional for clearing the map. However, having a fleet that is capable of killing an installation is encouraged especially for first-time users of anti-installation gear to get a feel for fighting these kinds of bosses.
  • As such, the following equipment should be considered to fight the Harbor Princess, the following gear are effective at penetrating the Soft-Skinned Installation's armor:

Shipborne Model Type 4 20cm Anti-ground Rocket Launcher
Type 4 20cm Anti-ground Rocket Launcher (Concentrated Deployment) and Landing Craft "Landing tanks". Aircraft carriers CANNOT attack installations if they have a Dive Bomber equipped UNLESS its one of the dive-bombers from the following list:

Carriers will only attack installations in the shelling phase if equipped with Torpedo Bombers or Anti-Installation Dive Bombers.

  • Additionally, carriers will attack installations if equipped with non-special dive bombers AND one of the special dive bombers below.
  • Any other dive bomber will completely disable shelling against installations even if the carrier has a torpedo bomber equipped.
  • This can be very useful to manipulate the targeting mechanic so the carriers attack important targets.

Tips

This map is relatively straight forward, being very permissive on routing and with no heavy danger.

  • It is suitable for some types of farming, such as Weekly World 4 quest Bw6, leveling, and ranking.
  • The boss node can also yield a lot of rare drops such as Cranes, Taigei, and most BB.

Regarding the boss node, some compositions have a submarine present that can aggro ASW capable ships.

  • This submarine is relatively weak, and so should be taken out easily without the need of much ASW.
  • The boss can be either a Light Carrier Nu-Class Flagship or an Armored Carrier Princess (2/3 comps).
    • If rolling the latter one, the boss fight can become slightly more difficult.

Tips

This map is mostly randomized on the path you take with few notable exceptions that should be considered:

  • Avoid bringing too many (F)BB(V) and CV(L)(B)
  • A well Balanced fleet is recommended for tackling this map.
  • While dedicated ASW setups are not necessary, a sonar can be considered for DD in the 3rd slot.


Recommended Fleet

  • 1CA(V), 1 CL, 4 DD routes CFHJ or ABDHJ
    • Cheapest composition, but requires high-level CL and DD as they need to dodge the closing torpedo if they didn't disable all of the enemies CA, CL and DD in advance
  • 1 CL 2 DD 3 [AV+CLT+CA(V)] / 1 CL 2 DD 2 CA(V) 1 [(F)BB(V)+CV(L)] routes CFDHJ or ABDHJ
    • Will always fight 3 battles pre-boss, but allow stronger ships that helps withstand enemy shots compared to the light comp above.
  • 2 CV(L), 1 CLT, 3 XX (XX is not another (F)BB(V) or CV(L/B)) routes CFDGJ or ABDGJ
    • Heaviest comp, slightly harder pre-boss, as you will always go to node G where Battleship Ta-Class are awaiting, in exchange, you get to bring CV(L) for opening airstrike and more firepower on the way to the boss and at the boss node itself.

Tips

  • This map can be taken advantage in multiple ways while playing the map area as it is a location that can be considered for completing the World 4 Weekly and scoring lots of transport kills for your transport dailies and weeklies.
  • Regarding the map nodes
    • Node B is a mixed node consisting of CLs and subs, fuel and ammo cost will cost the same as if you were in a standard surface battle.
    • Node H is a pure submarine node


Recommended Fleet

  • 2 [(F)BB(V)+CV(L)] 1 CL 3 DD (Short route: ACL or BDCL)
    • Possible to get the shortest route to the boss node, but the bottom path may present a bigger risk for this fleet due to Ru-class and Wo-class, the upper path should be less problematic though.
    • Easily let you score 12 wins at boss for Weekly World 4 boss quest and score 2 Transport kills per run.
  • 3 [(F)BB(V)+CV(L)] 1 CL 2 DD (Maximum 2 CV(B) / Long route)
    • Random routing across the map, but will never reach any dead-end and always reach the boss node in the end.
    • Usually good enough to help you net Transports at an alarming rate of 3-5 Transport per run while getting the boss kills on the way.
    • Out of all the paths you can get, going the path B - D - C - G - L will be the most dangerous as your fleet will arrive at the boss node with only 20% fuel and ammo making them quite vulnerable to both attack and deliver weak shelling attacks. It should still be winnable if you are lucky, but at expense of extra instant repairs being used.
    • Going most other paths, however, will allow you to arrive with more fuel and ammo which should easily make the boss fight much easier.

Tips

  • This map will serve as your first introduction battle in the normal part of the game to Installation type Abyssal which is different from all other abyssal types as they tend to have higher armor, stronger attack power and, can't be hit by torpedoes.
  • Killing the installation is optional for this map so you don't need to necessarily clear the map by defeating her. However, having a fleet that is capable of killing an installation is encourage especially for first time users of anti-installation gear to get a feel for fighting these kind of bosses.
  • As such, the following equipment should be considered if you wish to fight the Harbor Princess, each of these gear are effective at penetrating the installation's armor:


Recommended Fleet

  • 3 DD, 1 CL, 2 CVL routes DHN
    • A Light Fleet Composition which takes the shortest path to the boss. Since you'll be limited to light ships, you will need to depend on Daihatsu type equipment and WG42 to effectively fight the installation boss if you choose to bring them. You can also opt to use CVL with equipped with just Torpedo Bombers and fighters if you wish for additional assistance taking out the installation. Keep in mind though it not entirely necessary to kill the boss for this map.
  • 2 CV(B) 2 CA(V) 2 DD routes CDHN or CFHN
    • A stronger composition than the above one, but you will fight one more pre-boss battle
    • Dealing with Harbor Princess is slightly easier as your CA(V) can carry Type 3 Shell to damage her
  • 1CL 1AV 2 CVL 2 DD (All Fast) routes ABGHN
    • Goes through the resource node on the way that yields fuel, but there is a chance of off-routing to node I instead of going to H
  • 1 (F)BB(V), 2 CV(B), 1 CA(V), 2 DD
    • Heaviest possible fleet, but has random routing across the map (You will always start at node C though)


Fuel / Bauxite Farming

  • It is possible to use this map to farm both fuel and Bauxite. However, you need to use either an AV or AO and face off against mixed subs and a cruiser based surface fleet before being able to get the said resources
  • Recommended Composition: 1 AV/AO 1 CL 2 DD 2 CLT (All Fast) routes ABGJ
    • Node A shouldn't present much difficulty, however node G with its' flagship CAs, CLs and Late model DDs may present a possible challenge to survive. But if you are able to successfully do so. You can be rewarded with a decent amount of Fuel and Bauxite.
    • Preemptive torpedo launching ships like AV, CLT and CL Abukuma, Yura can be useful for taking out many of the ships in node G before the battle starts to minimize damage taken
    • If you use a slow AV or AO like Mizuho, Commandant Teste, Hayasui or Kamoi, you will need to use a turbine and boiler combo to help with Improving Ship Speed so that the entire fleet is fast and avoid Node E to prevent additional ammo lost.
    • Due to the danger this path has, bringing Daihatsu based equipment to gain extra resource is optional, but not recommended.

Tips

  • You must sink the flagship of the boss fleet FOUR times before the map is cleared.
    • To unlock World 5 you need to clear map 3-4 too.
  • Regarding the boss node, one of the boss node's compositions has a submarine present that can render your CVL/CL/DD useless. But that submarine doesn't have much armor in the first place so it should be taken out easily without the need of ASW much.
  • The boss can be either Light Carrier Nu-Class Flagship or Armored Carrier Princess (Two out of three possible comps have Armored Carrier Princess as the boss). If you roll the latter one, the boss fight can become slightly more difficult
  • In general, this map can also be used to clear Weekly World 4 Boss quest instead of 4-2. The boss node can also yield a lot of rare drops such as Shoukaku, Taigei, Mutsu, .... should you need any of them.

Tips

  • Unlocked by clearing both 4-4 and 5-1
  • It takes 5 kills to clear the map. Upon completion you are rewarded 180 points and a medal. Boss's HP bar resets at midnight at the beginning of each month
    • The boss comp will be reverted back to Initial Form post-clear until the next month reset


  • Regarding the boss, boss is Harbor Princess, an installation-type enemy. Equipping Type 3 Shells and WG42 (Wurfgerät 42) will deal extra damage to her.
    • Warning: Harbor Princess becomes substantially stronger on final form! The changes are, namely:
      • HP increases from 380 to 490.
      • Base firepower increases from 100 to 180.
      • Armor increases from 135 to 183 (Counting equipment)
      • This pushes her armor roll values from 128 to 236 (i.e. 183 (±30%)), above the daytime cap of 181. Barring low armor rolls, only critical hits will significantly damage her during the day.
      • Base AA increases from 150 to 170.
      • She gains a completely different set of equipment: Two 15-inch Fortress Cannons, AP Shell, and what is suspected to be Abyssal Avenger Torpedo Bomber. As a side effect of her equipment, her range is increased to long.
      • The changes allow her to hit harder and earlier during daytime. Since she's an installation-type abyssal ship, she uses the carrier damage calculation formula (even though it is displayed as shelling). Thus, her shelling damage, not counting her equipment or the bonus from AP shell, is already over the day battle cap even with Red T engagement. She also gains double attack ability during night battle.
      • On the final form, her escort ships also become tougher (Elite/Flagship Transports and Elite CA Ne-class replaces the DD Late Model).

  • Standard Routing D-H-K-T : 3 CA(V) 3 CV(B) / 1 BB(V) 3 CA(V) 2 CV(B) / 2 BB 1 CVB 2 CA 1 CAV / 1 BB 2 CV(B) 1 CVL 2 CA(V)
    • Please beware that Node K has a chance to Heavily Damage your ships due to the presence of 1 or 2 Battleship Ru-Class Kai Flagship
    • Los required to into the boss is 71 Formula 33 Cn=2


  • Fast+ Fleet Routing D-H-T : 3 CA(V) 3 CV(B) / 1 BB(V) 2 CA(V) 3 CV(B) (All Fast+)
    • All Ships are highly recommended to have been applied with Reinforcement Expansion and be equipped with Boiler and Turbine to reach Fast+ speed
      • Slow Ships must have 2x Boilers to become "Fast+", so unless you are using slow BBs who have 5 Equipment Slots, you are recommended to use FBBs.
    • It will only go through the Submarine Node D and a Light Enemy Fleet in node H before going straight into the Boss Node, thus avoid going into node K completely, which contains a Heavy Enemy Fleet.
    • The exchange is that your BB(V)/CA(V) won't be able to do Artillery Spotting due to being unable to equip seaplane, though as they will still be outfitted with 2 Main Guns, they will still be able to do Double Attack during Night Battle.
    • It is highly recommended that the CV(B)s are all outfitted with Aircraft Cut-In setup to be able to deal with non-Installation Escort Ships quickly and efficiently


  • CL and DD Routing
    • Like Fast+ routing, you will also skip node K which contains dangerous enemies but it can be difficult to defeat Harbour Princess at boss, especially in her Final Form.
    • Four-slot DD such as Tashkent, or four-slot CL like Ooyodo are useful in this situation as they can carry two WG42 to deal significant damage to Harbour Princess.
    • Can be helpful should you do the quests that require you to take CL/DDs into 4-5 Boss or attempt to save cost from supplying and repairing ships.
