|translation =I'm the 3rd ship of the Hiburi-class coastal defense ships, Shounan. After my final outfitting at the Sasebo Naval Arsenal, I was assigned to the 1st Maritime Escort Division. Amongst the deteriorating war situation, I was charged with defending the sea lanes between the mainland and Singapore. I escorted the doomed and desperate Hi convoys through the gauntlet several times...
