  Anti-Installation Dive Bombers
This is a segment from a bigger article. See Combat/Anti-Installation for details on Installation mechanics.

Carriers will only attack installations in the shelling phase if equipped with Torpedo Bombers or Anti-Installation Dive Bombers.

  • Additionally, carriers will attack installations if equipped with non-special dive bombers AND one of the special dive bombers below.
  • Any other dive bomber will completely disable shelling against installations even if the carrier has a torpedo bomber equipped.
  • This can be very useful to manipulate the targeting mechanic so the carriers attack important targets.

Akitsushima allows for the shortest possible path on the west entrance with a strong fleet.
  • Akitsushima should be armed with 2-3 SPF, as her role will be to serve as a distraction and to achieve a degree of air superiority at the boss node, depending on the formation.
LBAS Notes
The base should be sent on the boss, using Land-based Bombers and Land-based Fighters.
  • Using more bombers is advised to further damage the installations, at the cost of more plane losses, else, using fighters can help reduce those loses.

An alternative is to bring 4 land-based bombers and focus them on Node C instead of the boss, to significantly improve the pass rate.

Fleet Notes
Gives the shortest and easiest route to the boss, but requires a Fast fleet, this means that using slow BB(V)/CL have to be speed modded.
  • Fleet has the best chance of reaching the boss node while maintaining fuel and ammo to allow for a better outcome in the boss fight.

It is highly recommended to have an SPF to help maintain AS/AP on the route.

  • Ise-class Kai Ni with fighters can guarantee AS, and even give a good chance for air supremacy at the boss (and still have 1 free slot after making fast with a RE).

NOT RECOMMENDED for normal clear, only use this comp for particular quests, due to the very hard nature of 6-4 East route.
  • Node M is full of So-Class SSs, while node K and J each have Wo Kai Flagship CV, accompanied by either Ta-Class Flagship BB or Ru-Class Kai Flagship BB. An Aircraft Carrier Princess is found at Node J on Last Dance. With all these highly dangerous enemies awaiting in pre-boss, a strong fleet is required to pass safely.

Keep in mind that the boss's Artillery Imps have high AA that can easily wipe out the CV's bombers, so do consider the bombers that have AAR.

The CAV can be replaced with an LHA to skip node I, which is an air raid node, but LHA may have some issues surviving the pre-boss.

  • LHA can be anti-installation focused, with Nukes.
