- ↑ The Special Type III destroyers are the Akatsuki-class. Type I and Type II were the Fubuki and Ayanami-classes respectively.
- ↑ The Akatsuki-class had the efficiencies of their boilers increased and the number reduced from four to three. Ships of her class also had their funnels narrowed.
