Trivia

General Information

• She is named after Mount Hiei.
• She was launched on the 21st of November 1912.
• Sunk following the Battle of Guadalcanal on the 14th of November 1942; she was the first IJN battleship ever to be lost in WWII.
• Wreck located 6 February 2019 by RV Petrel. She rests upside down in 900 meters (3,000 feet) of water.

Update History

• She was part of the original game's launch when the game was released on the 23rd of April 2013.
• She got her Kai Ni on the 20th of November 2013.
• She got her Kai Ni C on the 23rd of April 2020.

Misc

• She was disarmed and turned into a training ship in 1929 before serving as Emperor Hirohito's transport from 1930 to 1937 when she was rearmed.
• Hiei is the only one of the Kongou sisters having to have her superstructure mast reconstructed into a prototype similar to that used on the Yamato-class.  Her slightly higher armor and health compared to her sisters can likely be attributed to this.
